Finding a lost Pictish Kingdom

Archaeologists are planning a dig in the Moray Firth area
of Scotland (not pictured) where they believe a lost kingdom of the Picts
may have existed. See link for full story. Fascinating!

Ancient Celtic burial grounds

Fourteen Gaulish tombs excavated in North Central France. Many of them
containing bodies of warriors with swords, spears and shields.
I imagine more will be revealed as archeologist's examine the remains.

Camp at the Rendezvous

What's for breakfast dude?

This is a picture of part of the camp setup at
Rendezvous. My brother Steve carved the
knotwork on the main beam holding up the fly.
Looks like a awesome day!

Starry Night

If the stars should appear but one night every
thousand years how man would marvel
and stare.
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Can you imagine being a ancient Pict or a Celt sitting
around the fire at night and looking up at the
sky.
No city lights or pollution
to block your view of the heavens. Stars by the
millions in plan view.
It is no wonder they thought of the godly and
their place on this earth.

It's recorded that Alexander the Great asked a group of
Celtic warriors what they feared most. (Alexander
thinking that they would say him) The warriors said
the sky. They feared the sky would fall on them.
With all the stars visible in the heavens its no wonder
they believed that.

The Mist Filled Path

Years ago I read this book “The Mist Filled Path”  by Frank MacEowen.
I recommend it for anyone interested in a Celtic point of
view for developing insight into their lives and Celtic spirituality.

To me it is filled with timeless gems of thought that are worth visiting
over and over, which I do often to refresh my memory on a particular
subject.

I am going to post thoughts from time to time
that go hand and hand with a celtic way of thinking.

I hope you enjoy.

Nature is the direct expression of the divine imagination.”
