The Bearded Axe

This is a drawing I just finished using my same
coffee stained watercolor paper. This time I did
not use pen and ink. I used 2B, HB and 2H drawing
pencils and some white charcoal pencil.
The dreaded Bearded Axe in Viking warfare
was a formidable weapon use for pulling shields
down away from the enemies, crushing skulls and
taking off limbs with one powerful thrust.
I hope you like the drawing.

Beowulf fights the Dragon with Hruting

This is a recent drawing I just finished after reading
"BEOWULF" for the second time.  I had read it
in High School but with the recent addition of
"BEOWULF" by J.R. Tolkien's version I was
inspired to read it again and do a drawing.
It is drawn in pen and ink on watercolor paper that has been
stained with coffee. I hope you like it.

The Norumbega Vinland Stone discovered on a beach
in Nova Scotia, Is it real or is it fake?

Beautifully carved Viking stone. It would be a great find if it is real.

The Viking Dagfinnr

The Viking Dagfinnr - I did this painting on coffee stained water color
paper just as a experiment to see how coffee would give the paper a aged look.
I also used pen and ink with a stippling effect with dots.
I finished off the painting with some light water colors. What do you think?
