Starry Night

If the stars should appear but one night every
thousand years how man would marvel
and stare.
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Can you imagine being a ancient Pict or a Celt sitting
around the fire at night and looking up at the
sky.
No city lights or pollution
to block your view of the heavens. Stars by the
millions in plan view.
It is no wonder they thought of the godly and
their place on this earth.

It's recorded that Alexander the Great asked a group of
Celtic warriors what they feared most. (Alexander
thinking that they would say him) The warriors said
the sky. They feared the sky would fall on them.
With all the stars visible in the heavens its no wonder
they believed that.
